Fish feed specialist Aller Aqua has officially opened an additional production line at its feed mill in Egypt.

This development comes two years after the firm announced the completion of its Egyptian aquafeed production facility, and it follows strong demand for its environmentally friendly fish feed not only on the local market but also in the United Arab Emirates, to which Aller Aqua has just started to export.

In April, the firm was awarded the “Best product for aquaculture in the Middle East” at a trade show in Dubai for the second successive year.

Today, Aller Aqua has production sites in Denmark, Poland, Germany and Egypt, producing feeds for 30 species of freshwater and marine fish. Its products are exported to more than 60 countries.

In 2016, the firm announced plans to build another feed mill for aquafeed in Zambia, together with a local aquaculture partner, Yalelo, at a cost of US$10 million.

Based on the growth potential for aquaculture in the Middle East, Skretting also has a research facility in Egypt.
