From WATTAgNet:

Janet McCollum, chief executive of leading U.K. poultry company Moy Park, said innovation is what has driven the company she leads to success.

McCollum, according to AgriLand, spoke at the recent Ulster Bank Lunch.

“To be innovative, we must always challenge conventional thinking. Attracting new talent with fresh ideas, and developing our own people, is one of the ways we do this at Moy Park,” she said.

“We need the best and brightest to look at careers in the food industry and to understand the breadth of roles that exist – from chefs to nutritionists to marketers, technologists, researchers and engineers.”

As an example of the company’s innovation, McCollum cited Moy Park’s partnership with Devenish Nutrition in the development of the U.K.’s first Omega 3 enriched chicken, something she referred to as a “true health innovation.”

McCollum was recently honored as a recipient of a IoD NI First Trust Bank Director of the Year Award.
