José Roberto Pernomian Rodrigues has resigned from his position of vice-president of BRF, the company revealed in a recent announcement to the market.

According to the announcement, the resignation is relevant to a recent decision issued by the Regional Federal Court of Appeals in the Third Region in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in a criminal proceeding involving José Roberto. While BRF did not elaborate on the nature of the criminal case, it did state that the court proceeding deals with facts that occurred more than ten years ago and do not pertain to activities carried out within his leadership role with BRF.

The BRF board of directors accepted his resignation during an August 2 meeting, and thanked him for his years of service to the company.

The BRF vice presidential position will remain vacant until a new resolution of the board of directors is taken.
