United States Egg Marketers names Derreck Nassar CEO

The United States Egg Marketers (USEM) Board of Directors has appointed Derreck Nassar as chief executive officer, effective September 18.

The United States Egg Marketers (USEM) Board of Directors has appointed Derreck Nassar as chief executive officer, effective September 18. 

Nassar joins USEM with more than ten years of experience in the egg industry.

Prior to joining USEM, Nassar was employed by Eastern Quality Foods LLC, Ponte Vedra, Florida, where he served as the company’s shell egg and egg products export specialist with markets including Mexico and South Korea.

Nassar also served as the director of operations for United Egg Producers (UEP), a cooperative of egg farmers from all across the United States. UEP represents the ownership of nearly all of the nation’s egg laying hens.  During his tenure with UEP, Nassar maintained key relationships with the board of directors and various committees focused on the advancement of the U.S. egg industry. In addition, Nassar also has five years experience trading eggs for UEP and assisted with exports to markets abroad.

Mr. Nassar earned a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness from the University of Georgia, and a masters of business administration from the University of West Georgia. 

USEM is a producer cooperative established specifically for the purpose of exporting U.S. shell eggs and its members represent approximately 40 percent of the nation's egg production.
