Spartan Chemical Company, a recognized leader in the formulation and manufacture of sustainable cleaning and sanitation solutions for the industrial and institutional market, announced on Nov. 1 the promotion of Tom Parris to the role of manager of food processing, effective immediately.

As a result of Spartan Chemical’s growth in the food processing sanitation market as well as industry growth as a whole, Spartan Chemical has promoted Tom Parris to the role of Manager of Food Processing.

For decades, Spartan Chemical has provided food processing facilities with solutions for their sanitation operation. Spartan’s food processing sanitation program helps processors protect their brand by eliminating foodborne pathogens, such as Listeria, through personnel hygiene, employee training, sanitation chemicals, standard operating procedure establishment and management, and dispensing and dilution control.

“The food sanitation segment continues to be a primary focus for us,” said John Swigart, president, Spartan Chemical. “We are responding to the fast-paced growth in this vertical and adding additional resources.”

Mr. Parris brings extensive industry knowledge to his role, having served as regional sales manager of the Wisconsin region with Spartan for the past fourteen years. Prior to that, Tom spent more than ten years in janitorial distribution working at Vas-ko Company in the role of sales manager. Mr. Parris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo and also served in the Toledo Air National Guard for 23 years.
