Student Careers Program new to Midwest Poultry Federation Convention 2018

The Midwest Poultry Federation is excited to host the Student Careers Program, a new event for its 2018 convention on March 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The primary focus of the program is two-fold: to connect the poultry industry with a focused talent pool and educate students on career opportunities in the industry.

The SCP provides a professional setting for two- and four-year college students to connect with industry professionals in a day-long event featuring a poultry industry overview, career panel, speed dating and time on the trade show floor. Sponsors have ample opportunity to meet with and interview qualified students for poultry specific internships/permanent positions.  

“We are excited to provide an opportunity for companies to seek out talented poultry-minded students,” said Steve Olson, Executive Director for the Midwest Poultry Federation. “We know companies and farm business are actively looking for employees and our goal is to make this an annual event. This event embraces the current and future professionals of the poultry industry and offers both learning opportunities and networking.”

The program is included in the sponsorship fee for the MPF Convention paid sponsors at the Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver levels. The event is free for students and those who pre-register are encouraged to send their resume to the MPF office by February 15. The MPF Convention is the largest 100 percent poultry-focused show in the country. The 2017 convention boasted 3,200 participants from 36 states as well as Washington D.C., four Canadian provinces and several other countries.
