At the 2017 National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Ind., USPOULTRY Foundation President John Starkey announced a new expansion of the USPOULTRY Foundation’s support for the National FFA Organization with an invitation to the National Officer Candidates to attend the International Poultry Expo, part of the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). This is a new Foundation initiative designed to further attract students to the poultry and egg industry.

The National Officer Candidates will receive an all-expense paid trip to the 2018 IPE in Atlanta, Ga.

This opportunity is made possible in part by an endowing Foundation gift from Tyson Foods.

The students will participate in a program led by poultry industry leaders that will inform them of the numerous career opportunities in the industry. Additionally, they will have an opportunity to visit the vast trade show floor to see the exciting technology used by today’s modern, sustainable poultry industry. These college freshmen and sophomore students are also eligible to participate in the USPOULTRY Foundation College Student Career Program.

“We are thrilled more than 20 of these proven FFA leaders will attend, and we know our member companies look forward to interviewing these students,” remarked Starkey. “The USPOULTRY Foundation is excited to announce this new expansion of our relationship with the National FFA. We are pleased to be able to offer these officer candidates an opportunity to experience the world’s largest annual trade show for the poultry and egg industries,” added Starkey.
