Jay Elbert Houchin, 64, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
Houchin, a resident of Huntingburg, Indiana, was vice president of live production at Farbest Foods, and was a respected leader in the turkey industry.
Prior to joining Farbest Foods in 1997, Houchin worked at Swift & Co. and Wabash Valley Produce. He also served as a board member for the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) and was a recipient of USPOULTRY’s Lamplighter Award in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie; two daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret (Brad) Coomer and Lucy Houchin; his mother, Anetta Houchin; one sister, Randalyn Clabaugh; and one granddaughter, Georgia Coomer.
