Global reach, practical focus

To equip Arbor Acres, Indian River and Ross customers with the most current flock management information, key sections of each handbook have been enhanced:

  • The Grading section now gives practical examples for accurate bird grading. This section is also more globally applicable, as it describes grading methods using both coefficient of variation (CV%) and uniformity.
  • The Environmental Requirements provide detail on how to maintain high air quality throughout the life cycle of a bird. Ventilation rates  have been updated in line with bird requirements based on latest field data and scientific findings.
  • Over the years consistent and balanced selection has brought about greater feed efficiency across all of Aviagen’s brands. The Nutrition section offers the best dietary guidelines to maintain ultimate health and fitness.
  • The Health and Biosecurity section has been expanded with helpful advice for designing and implementing vaccination programs, as well as monitoring vaccine responses and effectiveness.

Importance of good stockmanship

The addition of a stockmanship section is a first in the handbooks. This information drives home the importance of good stockmanship to achieving peak bird performance, as well as health and well-being.
