MPF board of directors officers announced

Greg Nelson of Nelson Poultry Farms Inc., Manhattan, Kansas, was elected President of the Midwest Poultry Federation (MP) for 2018. Nelson represents the Kansas Poultry Association on the Board.

“I’m looking forward the year ahead,” said Nelson after the 2018 MPF Convention wrapped up in Minneapolis. “I am excited to capitalize on the momentum we experienced this year with our move to a new location and make the 2019 show our best yet.”

Other officers are:

Vice President
Ben Thompson, Pearl Valley Eggs in Pearl City, Illinois, will serve as Vice President. Thompson represents the Illinois Poultry Industries on the Board.

Secretary / Treasurer
Scott Waldner, Purina Animal Nutrition LLC, New Ulm, Minn., will serve as Secretary-Treasurer. Thompson represents the Chicken and Egg Association of Minnesota on the Board.

Past President
Bruce Eastlund, ILC Resources, Fairmont, Minn, serves as immediate Past President. Eastlund is one of three allied industry positions on the MPF Board of Directors.

At the March 13 MPF Board meeting, Ross Thoreson, Best Veterinary Solutions, was elected to his first full term as an Allied Director on the Board. Best Veterinary Solutions is a long-time exhibitor at the convention; Thoreson was appointed to the Board two years ago to fill a position left vacant after a retirement.

The Midwest Poultry Federation (MPF) Convention ended its first year back at the Minneapolis Convention Center with 609 booths in two exhibit halls, jam-packed education sessions, and registration over the 3,400 mark – an increase over last year’s attendance and the largest registration number MPF has seen in well over 20 years.

The 48th annual Midwest Poultry Federation (MPF) Convention will be held March 12-14, 2019 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in downtown Minneapolis, Minn.
