The University of Illinois is set to break ground on an $11 million animal feed mill to replace its 90-year-old facility.

Construction will begin September 8 at the university’s South Farms in Urbana, Illinois, and is expected to be completed in June 2019.

Once complete, the mill is expected to produce 16,000 tons of feed per year. The old feed mill will be demolished after the new one is up and running, according to a report.

The university’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences has raised $6 million of the total needed for the project.
