Deven King promoted to managing editor of Egg Industry

In this role, King is responsible for covering topics of importance to US and Canadian egg producers.

Deven King has assumed the role of managing editor for Egg Industry magazine. In this role, King will cover topics of interest to North American egg producers and also be responsible for the production of the magazine. She joined WATT Global Media in June of 2017 and has provided news and feature coverage for the poultry and swine production markets as well as the livestock and poultry feed production markets.

Prior to joining WATT Global Media, King worked for Sycamore Media Corporation in Maquoketa, Iowa, where she wrote articles about agriculture for a regional weekly newspaper and a quarterly magazine.

King has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in agricultural communications and journalism with a focus in animal science. She also has an associate’s degree from Black Hawk College in Kewanee, Illinois. King attended Black Hawk College on a livestock judging scholarship and competed on the school’s judging team. She has judged cattle and swine at livestock shows in multiple states.

While in college, King had a summer internship with the Wilson Kedley Cattle Company in Iowa, where she was responsible for in-person and social media marketing of the company’s cattle for breeding purposes and as show prospects.

King currently resides in Iowa where she is still involved in the selection and breeding of show cattle.
