Pizza Hut is expanding its commitment to serve chicken that has been raised without antibiotics also important to human medicine.

Pizza Hut, in a press release issued on June 19, stated that all chicken for its WingStreet wings, will not be raised with such antibiotics by 2022. The recent announcement builds on the commitment it announced in 2016, when it revealed that all chicken sourced for use as pizza toppings will be raised without antibiotics important to human medicine by the end of March 2017.

"We are dedicated to listening to our customers and to serving better food. Today's announcement to no longer serve chicken raised with antibiotics by 2022 demonstrates our commitment to serve food that not only tastes great, but that customers can feel good about eating," Marianne Radley, Pizza Hut chief brand officer, stated in the press release. "Our customers are our business, and we will continue to push ourselves to ensure that we are delivering the quality food and quality experience our customers expect and deserve."

Other Yum! Brands antibiotics policies

Pizza Hut is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, which also operates KFC and Taco Bell.

Taco Bell, also in 2016, announced that it was adopting a similar policy to the one just made known by Pizza Hut. In its policy, Taco Bell stated that it would eliminate the use of antibiotics also used in human medicine in its entire chicken supply.

KFC, which by far is the biggest buyer of chicken among Yum! Brands restaurants, revealed in April 2017 that it would end the use of antibiotics also used in human medicine in its broiler chicken supply for U.S.restaurants by the end of 2018.
