The decision to open an office in Namibia is driven by a long-term strategy to further strengthen customer support in southern Africa, where the next closest office is in Johannesburg, South Africa.

There are many benefits to having a local office, including more direct contact with customers, better customer care, and being in a better position to respond quickly to local market needs and changes.

Marel is the leading global provider of advanced processing systems and services to the poultry, meat and fish industries. Namibia is the largest hake producer in the world and it is exciting to have a local office and deepen our relationship with the Namibian fish processing industry, as well as open our door to meat and poultry processors in the region.

Two key objectives of recently announced changes to Marel’s organizational structure are to drive continued growth and further enhance the customer journey. The new office in Namibia is a step in that direction, bringing Marel closer to its customers and supporting the company’s ambitious growth strategy.
