JSR Genetics has purchased a 650-sow Nucleus unit in Saskatchewan, Canada, from Prairie Swine Centre.

The facility will be used as a Centre of Excellence for JSR's genetic improvement program and will be connected to the U.K. and the firm's other Nucleus units around the world.

JSR Genetics Ltd. is part of the family of agriculture-based companies that comprise family-owned JSR Farming Group. Prairie Swine Centre is well-known for applied pig research in Canada and international markets.
