Mountaire Farms to Pack 7,500 food boxes for families for Thanksgiving

On November 17, hundreds of Mountaire employees will be volunteering to pack 7,500 boxes with a complete Thanksgiving dinner for a family, including a Mountaire Farms plump chicken roaster.

For more than 15 years, Mountaire Farms has spearheaded an effort to feed thousands of needy families in North Carolina during the holidays with their Thanksgiving for Thousands event.

On November 17, hundreds of Mountaire employees will be volunteering to pack 7,500 boxes with a complete Thanksgiving dinner for a family, including a Mountaire Farms plump chicken roaster. Boxes also include corn, string beans, yams, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix and a brownie mix for dessert. The event begins at 8:30 am and runs through 1 pm.

“This event grows every year and we are so proud of our team for leading this huge community effort,” said Phil Plylar, President of Mountaire Farms. “Our company has always been involved in feeding people, but it’s especially meaningful for everyone to come together to help out during the holiday season.”

Various community organizations and churches will pick up the food boxes and distribute to those families in need. Boxes this year will be distributed at our Lumber Bridge facility on November 17 and in Siler City at the First Baptist Church across from City Hall on November 20 at 9 a.m.
