Hormel promotes Sheehan to executive vice president

James N. “Jim” Sheehan has advanced to executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hormel Foods. The advancement was effective January 29, 2019.

James N. “Jim” Sheehan has advanced to executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hormel Foods. The advancement was effective January 29, 2019.

Sheehan previously held the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer for the company. As executive vice president and chief financial officer for Hormel Foods, Sheehan will oversee the company's financial enterprises, including accounting, information technology, internal audit, investor relations, corporate tax and treasury.

Sheehan's career with Hormel Foods began in 1978 in accounting. Over the years, he held various management and leadership positions in accounting and finance for the company.

In 1998, he became the president of Hormel Financial Services and a year later became treasurer. He advanced to vice president and controller in 2000. He was named chief accounting officer in May 2016 and assumed the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer in October 2016.

Sheehan is involved in numerous professional and nonprofit organizations. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Missouri Western State University and is a graduate of the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Hormel Foods, a global branded food company, is the parent company of Jennie-O Turkey Store, which is the second largest turkey company in the United States. Hormel Foods is headquartered in Austin, Minnesota.
