DuPont Animal Nutrition launched Syncra AVI to the Asia Pacific region during VIV Asia. A combination of enzymes and probiotics, the product is designed to maximize nutrient digestibility in poultry production.

The combination in the gut demonstrates the power of a “nutribiotic” approach to feed strategy that is focused on the interaction between nutrition, microbiome and gut and immune function, the company says, which is crucial to achieving and maintaining good intestinal tract health in the bird.

Already available in the U.S. and South Africa, the concept behind Syncra AVI is well proven, said Dawn M. Overby, global segment manager, animal health, with Danisco Animal Health, part of DuPont.

“Many farmers are frustrated by the removal or reduction of antibiotic growth promoters," she said. "We know that you cannot look at each aspect of production in a silo; you need to look holistically, and this includes what goes into the gut.”

She continued that the company was bringing knowledge to farmers to help them manage this change, to educate them and to overcome misconceptions.

“We’re showing that, with Syncra AVI, when you put certain combinations together, there are the chances of synergies,” Overby said, adding that the company was working together with producers to support the development of coherent strategies to address changing market demands.
