Larsen and Yates join Arm & Hammer food safety team

Arm & Hammer announces the addition of two highly experienced meat industry professionals to its Passport Food Safety Solutions team. Steven Larsen, Ph.D., is newly hired technical services manager, and Jacob Yates joins as food safety account manager.

Arm & Hammer announces the addition of two highly experienced meat industry professionals to its Passport Food Safety Solutions team. Steven Larsen, Ph.D., is newly hired technical services manager, and Jacob Yates joins as food safety account manager.

As a technical services manager Larsen will support processing plants, with a focus on pork processing facilities, to help address challenges and provide solutions related to food safety. Prior to joining Arm & Hammer, Larsen was with the National Pork Board, where he established industry pork quality standards and represented over 70,000 pork producers at various industry, government and academic engagements. His previous positions also include senior food technologist at Tyson Foods, Inc. Larsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science, master’s degree in meat science and a Ph.D. in veterinary microbiology from Iowa State University. In his new role, Yates will oversee new and established customers in the beef, pork and poultry industries. He comes to ARM & HAMMER from Viskase Companies, Inc., where he was a strategic account manager. His previous experience also includes Smithfield Foods, Poly-Clip System and Nu-Meat Technology, Inc. Yates earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural studies with emphasis in meat science and food science from Iowa State University.
