Poultry producer Jamaica Broilers Group (JBG) would like to expand its presence in the United States.

Following the recent release of its 2019 financial results, the company noted it experienced double-digit growth in the U.S. market, while only seeing single-digit revenue growth in Jamaica and in Haiti.

“JBG continues to look for growth prospects. We expect that the Jamaica and Haiti operations will expand at single-digit rates. We continue to explore more growth opportunities in the U.S.A., both from acquisition as well as organic,” Jamaica Broilers President of Finance Ian Parsard told the Financial Gleaner.

Jamaica Broilers’ last U.S. acquisition occurred in 2018, when Wincorp Properties Inc., a subsidiary of JBG, acquired a feed mill in Georgia from Crystal Farm Mills Inc.

The company, while headquartered in St. Catherine, Jamaica, also has a growing presence in the United States. In July 2013, Jamaica Broilers acquired England Packing Co. Inc., a U.S.-incorporated producer and distributor of fertile (hatching) poultry eggs.

In 2017, the company announced that it had acquired a hatchery in Big Valley, Pennsylvania, from Bell & Evans for an undisclosed amount. In making that acquisition, Jamaica Broilers said that the new hatchery would enable the company to extend its market reach, possibly even reaching people in Canada.

Jamaica Broilers Group, according to the WATTAgNet Top Poultry Companies Database, is a fully integrated poultry processor that markets its products under the Best Dressed Chicken and Hi-Pro brand names.

According to the company’s website, Jamaica Broilers “take(s) care of everything from hatching eggs to ready-to-eat offerings available in stores. Being a part of every step of the process means that we can attest to the safety and quality of our products.

The company, which is headquartered in St. Catherine, Jamaica, has been in existence for six decades, the Jamaica Broilers website stated.
