Research conducted by Cargill found that shoppers are looking for easy, convenient meal options that taste great. Thus, Cargill’s Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms brands are launching new Turkey Skillet Kits in spring 2020.

Chef-created and globally-inspired, Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms Turkey Skillet Kits are a new convenient, tasty and simple protein meal option. Each kit includes four turkey breast cutlets, hand-seasoned in a proprietary blend, along with a gourmet sauce sauté packet, and they cook in less than 15 minutes, delivering a quick and delicious meal for consumers to make at home.

Cargill’s research showed that consumers plan to purchase meal kits, such as Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms Turkey Skillet Kits, instead of buying frozen meals, picking up dinner to-go or dining out. Additionally, Cargill found high purchase intent in these skillet kits among regular turkey consumers as well as those who do not normally buy turkey for weeknight meals.

In an in-home study, a majority of consumers who do not typically purchase turkey products for weeknight meals said Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farm Turkey Skillet Kits tasted better than expected indicating Turkey Skillet Kits could prove to be an entry point to the turkey category for these consumers, while building on the growing meal kit segment.

Meal kits continue to increase in popularity as the fastest growing value-added category, but turkey is extremely under-represented in the segment. Turkey accounts for just 1% of protein options in the meal kit category, providing an excellent opportunity for Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms to serve up a new, unique offering to cook at home.

Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms Turkey Skillet Kits will include globally inspired flavors such as Tuscan-Style Tomato Garlic Basil, Southwest Style Chipotle Ranchero, Asian Style Orange Ginger and Thai Style Coconut Curry, and they all give consumers the flexibility to add their own side dish or enjoy the turkey and sauce on its own. The kits will be available spring 2020 at retail grocery stores.
