Anti-cage amendment passes in Mich.

Mich. law similar to Calif. proposition

Michigan amended legislation to phase out caged hens in 10 years. The act will require that egg laying hens be able to fully extend limbs without touching the side of an enclosure or another hen, and turn around freely. Chicken will also require at least a square foot of floor space.

The basic provisions are similar to a California proposition passed in November 2008.
