Mexican quick service food chain, Taco Bell brought back its popular Nacho Fries last week. This time, with a spicy new flavor, buffalo chicken.

The new menu addition features shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, nacho cheese sauce, pico de gallo, sour cream and Taco Bell’s new Buffalo Sauce.

The Buffalo Chicken Nacho Fries will be available for a limited time after a successful test run last summer in Memphis, Tennessee. On their own, Nacho Fries retail for $1.39. The Buffalo Chicken Nacho Fries cost $2.99. For the same price, they can also be ordered in a burrito.

Food media website Delish called the new fries “fully loaded and totally delicious,” noting that “the buffalo sauce is a perfect addition to the Taco Bell menu.” Lifestyle brand Thrillist also raved about the menu addition, saying “if you’re a fan of buffalo-chicken anything, this is a must try.”

The ad campaign for Buffalo Chicken Nacho Fries will continue “the dramatic storytelling of Nacho Fries on the big screen,” according to a press release. The commercials will feature a movie trailer for a fake movie called “Supply and Demand,” illustrating the lengths two characters go to when the product isn’t on the menu.

The return of Nacho Fries

This is the fifth time Nacho Fries have returned to the brand’s menu. After the initial launch in January 2018, they quickly became one of the chain’s most successful new menu item beating sales records previously held by Doritos Locos Tacos.

“We're seeing fries in one out of every three orders, Taco Bell spokesman Matt Prince told Nation’s Restaurant News in an email back in 2018.

Previous iterations of Nacho Fries included flavors such as Steak Rattlesnake Fries and Reaper Ranch Fries.
