Reports say soybean sales to China have grown to 12.5 million tons. This represents a significant increase over the same time last year at 7.7 million tons.
The increase comes from demands of China’s growing middle class. As the population becomes more affluent, so grows their taste for grain-fed meats.
Last year the country purchased US$7.3 billion in soybeans from the U.S.
