Enormous economic shocks caused by COVID-19 are proving disastrous for turkey breast prices.

In a video interview with WATT PoultryUSA, Dr. Thomas Elam, president of Carmel, Indiana-based, FarmEcon LLC, spoke about the challenges turkey markets face with retail and foodservice demand slashed. 


For now, the turkey market is facing a huge imbalance of supply and low prices for its most valuable cut. In the future, integrators may need to depopulate birds in the field.
