Slim Chickens has signed six multi-unit agreements with franchisee owners since February 2020, a move that will bring 38 new locations of the fast casual chicken chain to Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Ohio and Montana.
Two agreements bring chain to Alabama, Ohio
In Alabama, the brand partnered with Jeff and Andrea Goldt, who have more than 25 years of restaurant ownership experience. The first location should open in the fourth quarter of 2020.
“When I was first introduced to the Slim Chickens brand, I was immediately sold on the concept – this brand is definitely special to be part of,” said Jeff Goldt. “We’re excited to introduce members of the community to the brand. They will be ‘Slimthusiasts’ before you know it.”
David Gieson, a multi-unit owner of several fast food and fast casual restaurants, will open the first Slim Chickens in Cleveland, Ohio in early 2021.
“Slim Chickens is a uniquely cool brand with so much growth potential. I knew this was a right fit for me - and now was the right time. Slim Chickens has maintained or increased its momentum in recent months and the brand’s sales are up year-over-year,” Giesen said in a statement. “I am excited to be introducing the brand to the Cleveland market – they’ll be Slim Chickens’ fans in no time!”
600 restaurants by 2030
As a result of the new agreements, the brand now has more than 400 locations in the pipeline. This places them on track to hit their goal of 600 restaurants by 2030.
Slim Chickens is based in Fayetteville, Arkansas and currently has franchise locations in 14 states. The brand has opened four restaurants since the beginning of the year, with 23 more scheduled to open by December. New locations are set to open in markets like Florida, Colorado, New Jersey, Texas, Utah and the United Kingdom.
Slim Chickens is a fast casual franchise featuring dine-in and drive-through in the “better chicken” segment. Its menu features chicken tenders, fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings and 17 house-made dipping sauces.
