Leading Through Change at USPOULTRY’s Women’s Leadership Conference

USPOULTRY’s Women’s Leadership Conference scheduled for August.

The professional world is always in motion, with generational shifts, cultural differences and economic stressors constantly changing the status quo. USPOULTRY’s Women’s Leadership Conference offers a series of topics to assist female professionals in keeping up with these changes and cultivating the skills for successful leadership. The Conference, scheduled for Aug. 13-14 at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Florida, showcases the experiences of successful women in all levels of the industry who will share their perspectives and insights on effective leadership.

As USPOULTRY is currently planning to move forward with the seminar, the health and safety of everyone who attends is a top priority. Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local governments regarding COVID-19 will be followed, and regular updates will be provided to all stakeholders if the situation warrants. For example, in addition to the hotel sanitation practices outlined by Hilton, seating will be configured to allow for social distancing if necessary.

“Successful leaders are constantly looking to improve, both personally and professionally,” remarked Amanda Chosewood, corporate credit manager at Fieldale Farms Corporation, and planning committee chairperson. “The purpose of this annual conference is to provide that opportunity, giving women the resources needed to become leaders who can adapt and succeed in a dynamic professional environment.”

The 2020 USPOULTRY Women’s Leadership Conference program committee includes Michelle Arterburn, House of Raeford Farms, Inc.; Amanda Chosewood (committee chairperson), Fieldale Farms Corporation; Teresa Dunlap, Wayne Farms LLC; Patricia Hawkins, Tyson Foods, Inc.; and Lisa Noffsinger, Mississippi State University.

The seminar’s agenda includes a variety of beneficial topics, such as An Industry Overview and Why Your Role Matters in Feeding the World; Managing a Multi-Cultured Workforce; Personal Wealth Planning and Management in a Changing Economy; Let Your Voice Be Heard…Managing Through Personality and Generational Differences; COVID-19…A New Stressor in the Workplace: Keeping Calm, Carrying On; and more. This year’s opening reception will conclude with a bonfire on the beach!
