Vietnam to modernize meat industry

Vietnamese government provides financial incentives to industry

According to trade show producer  Ildex, Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will speed up plans to build seven modern slaughtering centers throughout the country by 2010.

The government has launched financial and investment incentive programs to encourage the private sector to invest in modern meat processing technology. This will be in tandem with new legislation to enforce industry-wide standards.

In the past, the private sector hesitated to invest in modern equipment because of high costs and low profit potential.
