Mar-Jac CFO named to Georgia economic development board

Mulahm Shbeib, vice president of finance and chief financial officer (CFO) of Mar-Jac Poultry Inc., was appointed to serve on the Georgia Department of Economic Development Board of Directors.

Mulahm Shbeib, vice president of finance and chief financial officer (CFO) of Mar-Jac Poultry Inc., was appointed to serve on the Georgia Department of Economic Development Board of Directors.

Shbeib’s appointment was announced by Gov. Brian P. Kemp on August 4.

Shbeib earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2001 from the University of South Florida and master’s degree in accounting in 2010 from George Mason University. Shbeib and his wife have four children and live in Roswell, Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development markets Georgia to the world by encouraging business investment and trade, attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a go-to location for film, music, digital entertainment, and the arts.

Shbeib was one of four new appointments to the board. Also appointed were Jay Wells, president of Premier Enterprises; Drew Ellenburg, co-founder of the Ellenburg Chair Company; and Garnett Lewis Johnson, president and owner of Augusta Office Solutions LLC.

Current board members Jake Carter, Allen Hodges and Marisa Simpson were reappointed.

A full term on the board is fiye years.

Mar-Jac Poultry Inc. is headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia, and involves the Georgia operations of Mar-Jac Poultry, the 15th largest poultry producer in the United States. Mar-Jac Poultry LLC involves the Alabama and Mississippi operations and is headquartered in Jasper, Alabama, according to the WATTPoultry.com Top Companies Database.

Together, the two entities processed 15.88 million pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis in 2019.
