China's impact on U.S. broiler exports is "truly unbelievable," according to head of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC).

In a WATT Poultry Chat interview, USAPEEC President Jim Sumner shared current data on the amount and value of poultry exports from the broiler, turkey and duck industries headed to China. The country was reopened to U.S. trade in late 2019.

Sumner said the new business is a boon to the entire industry and, given the current economic circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he doesn't know where the industry would be without China's demand.
