A fire that started when work was being done on propane lines outside of the Tyson Foods rendering plant in Temperanceville, Virginia, had a minimal impact on operations.

The fire took place on the evening of September 27. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a propane line was on fire near the plant. Units from multiple fire departments responded to the incident, according to the Shore Daily News, and the fire was put out in short order.

According to an email from Tyson Foods spokesperson Morgan Watchous, the plant was in operation the following morning.

Another fire occurred at a Tyson Foods facility in Temperanceville in 2013, when a fire started in an air return unit on the roof of the plant, but it also was quickly extinguished. Damage in that incident was limited to the unit and did not harm the roof or other parts of the facility.

Tyson’s poultry plant in Temperanceville was also taken offline for a day for maintenance purposes.
