BRF vice president Rubens Fernandes Pereira resigns

Rubens Fernandes Pereira has resigned from his position as vice president of strategy, management, and innovation for BRF, the company stated in an announcement to the market on its investor relations webpage.

Rubens Fernandes Pereira has resigned from his position as vice president of strategy, management, and innovation for BRF, the company stated in an announcement to the market on its investor relations webpage.

Pereira, according to the company, decided to leave the company, but will remain in the position until October 9. The announcement to the market, dated October 2, was signed by Carlos Alberto Bezerra de Moura, BRF chief financial and investor relations officer.

The duties presently held by Pereira will be distributed between other members of BRF's executive committee until a permanent successor for Pereira is hired.

Pereira has held that role with BRF since October 1, 2018. Prior to joining the BRF team, he was the global director of strategy and innovation for the vegetable oil business at Cargill, a company that he worked for since 2004. Pereira also previously served in consulting companies like Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Boston Consulting Group.

Pereira holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and a masters of business administration.

BRF, formerly known as Brasil Foods, is the third largest poultry producer in the world, and the second largest poultry company in Brazil. In 2019, according to the WATTPoultry.com Top Poultry Companies Database, slaughtered 1.554 billion broilers.
