Hormel Foods introduced Egg Bites and Breakfast Combos to the company’s line of Black Label breakfast items, convenience offerings designed to appeal to consumers who want a high-quality, easy-to-prepare breakfast option with protein.

"Breakfast is often considered the most important meal of the day, and now it's about to become the best one," Nick Schweitzer, senior brand manager for Hormel Foods, explained in a statement.

"Our research points to 92 percent of Americans eating breakfast, but they don't always have the time to cook from scratch or even to sit down at their kitchen tables. Hormel Black Label Oven-Baked Egg Bites and Hormel Black Label Breakfast Combos breakfast items meet those challenges head on, offering the attributes that make our premium brand a favorite in the United States."

Black Label Oven-Baked Egg Bites come with three choices of sides: bacon, chorizo and bacon and sausage. Each tray contains two egg bites in a 4.2-ounce tray that can be warmed in the microwave in 90 seconds. Oven-Baked Egg Bites retail for $3.49 and can be found at Walmart, Shop Rite, Jewel, Price Chopper, Hy-Vee, Lowes Foods, military commissaries and other retailers throughout the nation.

The Black Label Breakfast Combos contain either pancakes with bacon and syrup or sausage with pancakes and syrup and retail for $2.99.

Breakfast food truck

To celebrate the new breakfast items, Hormel has scheduled free-sample events at retail locations and for front-line workers across the United States. The Hormel Black Label Breakfast Food Truck begins the tour on September 18 in Flemington, New Jersey and ends October 23 in Homewood, Illinois.

“We’re excited to get people trying the Hormel Black Label Oven-Baked Egg Bites and discovering how tasty and satisfying they are. Once they experience them, we’re sure they’ll fall in love with the flavors and convenience,” Schweitzer said.

“There are so many people who have sacrificed – and continue to do so – every day to get us through this challenging time. We wanted to find a way to show our appreciation while we’re out on the road.”
