The 2020 Poultry International WATTPoultry Top Companies edition showed a bit of movement in the ranking of the top 10 broiler companies worldwide from the previous year, with two sets of companies swapping places in the rankings. The companies are ranked by million head slaughtered annually at the end of calendar year 2019.
Koch Foods Inc. moved up one spot in the rankings from 8 the previous year to 7 this year, swapping spots with Perdue Farms. Koch saw more than a 9% increase in head slaughtered year over year, whereas Perdue Farms saw about a 2% decrease in head slaughtered over the same period.
Similarly, Sanderson Farms Inc. and Industrias Bachoco swapped spots, the former moving up to number 9, and the latter moving down to 10. Sanderson saw a 3% increase in head slaughtered year over year narrowly beating out Industrias Bachoco, which saw no change in head slaughtered over the same period.
