Poultry expert, Dr. Timothy Johnson, joins Diamond V

Cargill’s Diamond V hires Dr. Timothy Johnson as Director of Poultry Research and Technical Support.

Cargill’s Diamond V business has hired Dr. Timothy Johnson, PhD, as Director of Poultry Research and Technical Support. 

Dr. Johnson brings almost 25 years of research, academic, and commercial experience to the organization. His collective competencies lie in mitigation of antibiotic resistance in poultry, microbiology, pathogen genomics, and preventive veterinary medicine. In addition, Johnson has extensive experience collaborating with a variety of US university teams on research studies. 

Dr. Johnson received both his BS in Microbiology and his PhD in Molecular Pathogenesis from North Dakota State University. He has been involved in research and higher education since 1993, and is a highly published author with over 110 published articles and 8,600 citations. 

Prior to joining Diamond V, Dr. Johnson served as a tenured professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. He held the position of Director of Research and Development of the Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center in Wilmar, Minnesota; and was a consultant for Elanco Animal Health. Dr. Johnson has become well known and highly recognized in the poultry industry and in the higher education realm.
