Pilgrim’s hires Galvanoni as chief financial officer

Matthew “Matt” Galvanoni will join Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation as its global chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 15.

Matthew “Matt” Galvanoni will join Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation as its global chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 15.

Galvanoni brings more than 26 years of finance and accounting experience with publicly-traded companies. He served as vice president, finance at Ingredion Incorporated since 2016, managing all financial-related responsibilities for the $4 billion North American division of the Fortune 500 global manufacturing company. He joined Ingredion in 2012, serving in the role of global corporate controller and chief accounting officer, where he managed the company’s accounting-related and external financial reporting responsibilities.

Galvanoni will report to Fabio Sandri, president and global chief executive officer of Pilgrim’s Pride. Sandri, who was named interim president and CEO of the company in June 2020 and assumed that role on a permanent basis in September 2020, has been simultaneously working as the CFO since his promotion. Sandri was initially hired as the Pilgrim’s CFO in 2011.

Galvanoni started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1994 and held several financial leadership positions at Exelon Corporation, where he most recently served as assistant corporate controller.

He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and later received a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Pilgrim’s Pride, according to the WATTPoultry.com Top Companies Database, is the second largest poultry producer in the United States. The company also has operations in Mexico and Europe.
