Weather, losses push egg prices up in Malaysia

Egg price hike cause disputed

The cold and rainy weather in Malaysia is being blamed by some for decreased egg production leading to higher egg prices, according to reports.

Consumers are seeing an increase of between two and three sen per egg.

The Federation of Livestock Farmer's Association of Malaysia contradicts the account, saying farmers are making up for losses experienced when prices dropped before the September religious festivals.
