The Scandi Standard board of directors on June 3 appointed Otto Drakenberg as the company’s interim managing director and CEO.

Drakenberg’s appointment was made just days after Scandi Standard announced that its managing director and CEO of the past eight years, Leif Bergvall Hansen, had been terminated from the role. However, at the time, the company stated that Hansen would remain with the company until a successor has been named.

With the hiring of Drakenberg on an interim basis, Hansen is leaving Scandi Standard with immediate effect.

Drakenberg was born 1966 and has a track record as interim chief executive in the FMCG, consumer services, and consumer retail sectors. He has extensive experience from leading business transformations, as CEO of Selecta, Swegro and Twilfit, and as chairman of the board of Swegro and Spendrups, the company stated in a press release.

Johan Bygge, Chairman of the Board of Scandi Standard, said: "We see a need to strengthen the leadership at Group level in order to progress a number of projects and processes in the company. Otto Drakenberg will initially focus on the situation at the Swedish chicken production plant Kronfågel, and also engage in finding a sustainable solution regarding the Danish Ready-to-cook business. Through this measure, we are reinforcing our commitment to fulfil the company's high demands for animal health and food safety, in order for everyone to feel confident in buying our products."

The recruitment process for a permanent managing director and CEO continues.
