Lesotho is ninth African state to report avian flu in poultry

Registering its first ever cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), Lesotho has become the ninth African country to report cases of the disease in poultry so far this year. From Mali and South Africa come reports of additional outbreaks in poultry, affecting more regions.

So far this year, Lesotho has become the ninth African state to report highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in poultry. For the country surrounded by South Africa, it also represents the first occurrence of HPAI.
