Meadow Valley Meats is recalling a turkey breakfast sausage product from the marketplace because it contains an undeclared allergen – milk.
The recalled product comes in 5-pound packages that include all lot numbers starting with 210331, 210525 and 210604, according to a notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The turkey sausage products were only distributed in the province of British Columbia.
The recall was initiated by the company, but the CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to the recall of other products. CFIA is also verifying that the industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.
There have not been any reports of reactions or illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
