Meredith Johnson has joined WATT Global Media’s editorial team as the managing editor of Egg Industry Insight. Johnson brings experience in project management, food processing compliance with regulatory requirements, sanitation operating procedures, HACCP plans, GMP policies and supporting food safety programs with her. Prior to joining WATT, Johnson served in supervisory roles in quality control for Golden State Foods and Koch Foods facilities. She has worked in both slaughter and raw further processing facilities.

Johnson holds an undergraduate degree in Meat Science with a focus on nutrition, and a Master of Poultry Science, both from Auburn University. Her graduate research focused on meat quality with a thesis on broiler breast meat quality. Johnson also worked as a full-time research assistant at Auburn while attending graduate school. She has completed Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) training.
