The University of Arkansas recently received a grant in the amount of $17,618 for student recruitment from the U.S. Poultry & Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation.

Monty Henderson, George's Inc. and 2009 Chairman of the Board of U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, presented the check to Dr. Keith Lusby, Interim Poultry Science Department Head and Director of the Poultry Science Center of Excellence. Joining the presentation was Marvin Childers, The Poultry Federation.

"Attracting bright young people is essential for the future of the poultry industry," Henderson said. "The Ford Foundation grants are important in our goal of encouraging young people to study for careers in our industry."

The Ford Foundation provides recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to enroll in their poultry programs.
