Cherkizovo Group helps renovate Kashira spring

Cherkizovo helps renovate a spring in the Moscow region.

Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, has provided funding to renovate a spring in the village of Topkanovo in the Kashira Municipal District, where the Company has a fully automated sausage plant.

The project in Topkanovo is part of a program to improve springs in the Moscow Region. Twenty-seven springs have been renovated since 2017, when the program was launched. Topkanovo’s spring is very popular among the locals thanks to its water quality and historical significance.

Cherkizovo Group provided some of the funds to renovate the spring. They will be used to install a collection chamber to bring up groundwater. Additionally, Cherkizovo will help make access to the spring more convenient and build a frame with handrails. The work is slated for completion in September.

As a socially responsible company, Cherkizovo Group regularly provides assistance in improving communities across its footprint. Since 2018, Kashira has been home to the Company’s fully automated smoked sausage plant, the largest in Europe in terms of capacity. The entire production process from the moment raw materials enter the facility to the shipment of finished goods is controlled by robots, reducing human involvement to a minimum.
