Petelinka and Pava-Pava win awards

Two Cherkizovo brands win Product of the Year awards.

Cherkizovo Group’s products under the Petelinka and Pava-Pava brands again came first in two categories at the annual Product of the Year awards.

The accolades were presented at the 23rd Product of the Year 2021 Official ceremony in Moscow. They are given out to top-selling consumer goods in different categories, from food to home products.

Russia’s largest meat producer, Cherkizovo Group, has long been a staple participant of the Product of the Year awards. At this year’s ceremony, the company won two awards. Its Petelinka brand, which celebrates the 20th anniversary this year, received the Eco-friendly Meat Product award in the Chicken Meat category for the second year running. The Pava-Pavabrand picked up the best Healthy Food product in the Turkey Meat category for the third time in a row.  

Petelinka is Russia’s best known and most popular chilled poultry brand, the market leader by sales in the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. The Petelinka-branded product line comprises around 60 products, including fresh chicken fillet washed and sliced for customers’ convenience, cutlets and marinated meat with no food additives, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. The brand’s offering is all natural and made from 100 % chicken fillet and natural spices.

The Pava-Pava brand is produced by Tambov Turkey, an equal-stake joint venture between Cherkizovo Group and Grupo Fuertes (Spain). Today, it is the second largest turkey meat producer in Russia. Turkeys for the Pava-Pava brand are grown in the Tambov region known for its green spaces. Their meat contains 50 % less fat than similar breeds and is hypoallergenic and recommended for children.

Petelinka and Pava-Pava have a track record of winning other Product of the Year categories, with Petelinka receiving accolades for Poultry Cutlets (2019) and Chicken Meat (2018) and Pava-Pava taking the Eco-friendly Meat award (2018).
