Post Holdings recently announced that one is its subsidiaries, Michael Foods, will be managing a plant producing mostly protein drink products that has begun construction in central Ohio. The plant will be located in West Jefferson, just outside of the Columbus city limits, in hopes that distribution will be straightforward due to its central U.S. location. The company plans to open the facility in 2023, creating approximately 200 jobs for the area.

“We are excited to begin construction on our West Jefferson property,” stated Steve Schonhoff, senior vice president of integrated supply chain for Michael Foods. “The location is a terrific addition to our supply chain.”

The $86 million project will be 215,000 sq. ft. and produce protein drinks for BellRing Brands, Inc., which owns the Premier Protein brand. According to the announcement, the company’s investment will go towards construction, machinery and equipment.

“Post Holdings’ new facility will expand economic diversity in the Village of West Jefferson and the Columbus Region,” stated West Jefferson Mayor Ray Martin. “We’re excited to have Post Holdings invest and grow in our community.”
