AJC International co-founder to receive poultry industry award

Distributors association honors Eric Joiner for lifetime achievement

The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association has named Eric Joiner, vice chairman of AJC International, as the recipient of its 2010 Poultry Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. The association gives the award each year to a poultry industry leader who has played a major role in the poultry industry’s growth.

Joiner co-founded AJC International in 1972 and, as its president, led the company’s expansion into China, South America and Russia. He is now president of Amerifoods, an AJC International affiliate based in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Joiner is a past chairman of the USA Poultry and Egg Export Council board of directors. He has also served on the boards of the National Chicken Council and Frosty Acres Brands Inc.
