Craig Coufal, Ph.D., has joined Jones-Hamilton as research and technical services manager in the agricultural division. Coufal, who previously served as an associate professor and extension specialist in the department of poultry science at Texas A&M University, is well known for his applied research programs on poultry litter and waste management and egg sanitation. His focus on litter management to improve production and reduce pathogens, and assessment of management strategies to reduce the environmental impact of poultry production, make him an ideal addition to the Jones-Hamilton Co. technical team.
“I’m very excited to be part of an industry-leading company with time-tested, quality products that safely serve the needs of the poultry industry,” commented Coufal.
Prior to joining the department of poultry science at Texas A&M in 2008, Coufal was an extension specialist with the Mississippi State University Poultry Science Department. He has been a part of multiple Ph.D. committees related to poultry nutrition and has advised numerous graduate students. Coufal received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Poultry Science from Texas A&M University. He also previously worked in the egg industry as a production supervisor with Cal-Maine Foods, Inc.
