Aviagen Anadolu is pleased to announce the appointment of Burak Kaleli as its new general manager. In this new position, Burak will continue to lead the Turkish business forward by continuing to provide customers with the best-quality breeding stock, supported by a local, knowledgeable team that is committed to supporting Aviagen’s customers throughout Turkey, the Middle East & Africa (TMEA).
Burak holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Missouri, USA. Working for Aviagen for more than 20 years, Burak started as commercial manager with Ross Breeders Anadolu in Turkey before moving to New Zealand, managing the sales, production planning and export for Aviagen Australia and New Zealand. After returning from New Zealand, Burak became the international planning and quality manager before moving to his previous role as TMEA planning and commercial support manager, where he led the planning, business information and commercial support activities for the TMEA Business Management Group.
Burak expressed his excitement at working for Aviagen Anadolu again, “It feels great to be back “home” as general manager at the place where I started over 20 years ago as commercial manager. This appointment should set a good example to those who are at the beginning of their careers. If they work hard, persevere, are willing to develop and learn, and are not scared to take themselves out of their comfort zone, they will be successful. We have challenging but very exciting times ahead of us. We are investing heavily and expanding our farming base and hatchery capacity in Turkey, which brings a lot of responsibility. We have a great team of people, and with the best state-of-the art facilities, we will strive to make Aviagen Anadolu the best in Aviagen, not only in terms of production performance but also in chick quality and customer service.”
“The Ross brand already has a well-established presence within the Turkish market thanks to the genetic potential of the Ross birds, the hard work of our team and the dedication of our loyal customers. Burak has extensive experience within the industry and also within Aviagen, and we are delighted to welcome him back into the Aviagen Anadolu team where he first started out. On behalf of the full TMEA team, I’d like to wish Burak every success in his new adventure as general manager,” commented Tom Exley, president of Aviagen Turkey, Middle East and Africa.
