Hamlet Protein holds poultry seminar in Mexico.

Hamlet Protein, global leader in solutions for young animal nutrition, organized a technical poultry seminar within the XLVI ANECA Congress Ixtapa, Mexico. ANECA is the National Association of Specialists in Poultry Sciences in Mexico, and its congress provides excellent opportunities for technical knowledge exchange and networking.

Dr. José Luis Laparra, technical sales manager with Hamlet Protein, welcomed a large group of representatives from leading international feed companies and poultry producers, academia and consultants, outlining Hamlet Protein’s solutions for young animal nutrition. “With a relatively short lifespan, we need to focus on the importance of early feeding in broiler chicks,” commented Laparra.

Dr. Maria Mayorga, MS., PhD., from USSEC presented “3 Soybean Antinutritional Factors Critical in Poultry Nutrition.”  Dr. Mayorga currently works for the United States Soybean Export Council (USSEC) as a Regional Poultry Technical Specialist. “When formulating (pre) starter diets, nutritionist should carefully consider the high variability of ANF content in Soybean Meal (SBM) and its potential negative impact on the gut health development of broiler chicks. Choosing a protein source low in ANF-s can drive the performance of the animal throughout its’ lifecycle,” stated Dr. Mayorga.

Dr. Kyle Brown, technical manager poultry with Hamlet Protein presented “Nutritional Strategies to Minimize the Effects of Soy Anti-Nutritional Factors.” His dissertation work was the evaluation of xylanase on broiler production performance and nutrient digestibility in corn and soybean meal diets.
