Royal Pas Reform has further expanded and strengthened its presence in the Philippines hatchery industry with the appointment of Dr. Evaristo Macalino, who has more than 30 years’ specialist experience in the country’s poultry and livestock industries as country manager.
Dr. Macalino will provide support to Filtration Solutions, (FSI)–Royal Pas Reform’s representative in the Philippines since 2019. FSI, a subsidiary of ERA Trading and based in Pasig City, east of Manilla, supplies turnkey solutions for poultry sector customers.
Dr. Macalino has knowledge of the poultry and pig industries in most countries in south and southeast Asia, with experience of poultry and livestock integration, sales, marketing, management and administration, as well as poultry and swine breeding and veterinary health.
Graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, Dr. Macalino began working in the poultry industry in 1988. His first senior role was as breeder farm manager for Purefoods Corporation at Natatas in Batangas province. From 1992 to 1997, he was general manager for production at Pt. Sinta Maju Abadi Breeding Farm in Jakarta, Indonesia.
After two years as technical manager Asia for Dutch poultry business Euribrid, he also became manager of Manila-based Hybro’s business in South Asia, Southeast Asia and China.
From 2004 to 2020, he worked for Hendrix Genetics in Boxmeer, The Netherlands, and set up distributorships in South Korea, The Philippines and Vietnam for Hypor–the world’s second largest swine genetics company.
Most recently, Dr. Macalino was president of HiBig Poultry and Livestock Trading and Consultancy Services, a company that facilitates the importation of poultry and livestock genetic material to the Philippines.
